This year, one of the department’s priority areas is vertical alignment of our in-district specialized programs (including creating entrance and exit criteria and a clear continuum of services). As we build this level of programming, we will update this website accordingly.
Learning Centers are currently located at Thorpe, Riverside, Smith and Holten Richmond. Language-Based Programs are currently located at Great Oak and Smith.

The preschool learning center program is a substantially separate preschool program. Students in this classroom are children found eligible for special education who require highly individualized programming and a smaller staff to student ratio. This classroom is taught by a special educator and supported by multiple paraprofessionals. Additionally, the preschool learning center utilizes the methods of applied behavior analysis and receives consultation from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Students in this classroom aslo have opportunities for inclusion within the integrated preschool program, as appropriate.
